He can only go by her response, a confirmation dashing any remaining hopes that there might yet be a way out of this.

"Thankfully they don't seem to be trained fighters, but that also makes them dangerous in how unpredictable their movements are," he nods, making mental note of her advice. "We don't need to beat them, we just need to slow them down. If you still have any of the cure on you, use it if you find an opening."
Having someone on the same page as him at least helps to calm him. She's right. They can do it together. They didn't really have much choice.
