The first instinct of several kids is to dart forward. Li ends up with one under each arm, trying to prevent them from rushing off - if there was an unexpected hostile up ahead, it would be all too easy for one of them to get snatched up - and then grunts in pain as her injured shoulder protests that movement. Parents quickly retrieve their children from her, looking embarrassed. Li is grateful Donatello is bringing up the rear where he can guard that half as all of her attention swiftly turns to keeping on high alert for this last stretch. Some part of her dreads the idea, but it wouldn't surprise her if this alleged safe haven had been corrupted.
Remarkably, despite this day being nothing but a sea of poor luck prior to this, her pessimism is proven unfounded. They arrive and it's not overrun or compromised, just a bit overcrowded and full of people trying to find other people. Only when the very last person from the group is safely on the other side of the large metal gates (this was someone's private, fancy, gated property, once upon a time) does Li finally let herself slump against the side of it and exhale a long sigh, followed by a deep breath.
She turns to Donatello and gives him a small smile. "We did it."
