The civilians are safe. The streets are quiet, at least for now, and it's largely because of what they did. Not just Donatello, with his brilliant plans and improvisational skills, but Li, too. She contributed something to this success. True, she slipped into Creature Mode once. That's not great. At no point, though, did she endanger anyone's lives other than her own, nor did she freeze up in the face of something too reminiscent of the past. The result is that they managed to achieve the actual objective, keeping everyone safe, in spite of that one setback.

She waits for everyone to head in with something strange welling up in her - not just relief or the typical satisfaction of having done a job right, but a feeling akin to happiness. For once she saved more lives than she took. Li is not solely a weapon. Or maybe she is, but a knife can be used to preserve life, not just take it. She's not sure. Either way, though, she positively glows with contained contentment as Donatello grins at her.
