Mikumo's curiosity is more about the how of getting here. Even in her world, where space travel is commonplace and swift, you generally need a decently sized ship to "fold" - essentially her world's version of warp travel - so individuals from different worlds all being transported to a single point indicates a potentially worrying level of advanced technology involved here. She's figuring it might be the same for others who have travelled worlds, where they might be used to being on entirely different planets with people from different places, but not this abruptly, or being thrown into a situation like this.
Placing her drink down for the moment somewhere she can still see it in the corner of her eye, Mikumo spreads her free hand in something almost like a shrugging motion.
"I suppose I'm used to what others would consider high-stress situations, so it takes more than this to make me lose my head," she says, seemingly not too concerned about disclosing that information now that it's been brought up. "But it is interesting that some of the technology these Sylphid have access to is past even what I'm familiar with. Long-distance space travel where I come from requires either a ship large enough to carry the power source needed to fold, or occasionally just a standalone power source, but the latter would usually only be able to open a single gate from one point to another. The fact that they could bring so many people from different origin points here at one time is impressive, even by my standards."
