Codi might not understand everything that Mikumo just told her, but there's no doubt that she's enraptured by every bit of it. She nods along with a lean against her elbow on the counter, other hand slowly moving towards her drink until she pulls it away and hovers it near her face, expression locked in curiosity. Ultimately, she takes away two points:

First, that Mikumo not only comes from a fairly technologically advanced society, but also seems to understand a nontrivial amount of mechanics from it; and:

Second, that she's used to being under duress.

The second point ultimately strikes Codi as the most interesting. Mikumo might have started there and stated it rather bluntly, but she glossed over it and moved to more technical discussion quickly after. That sounds like a deflection to Codi's ears - or maybe it's just such a mundane statement of fact that the other woman doesn't feel like it bears elaborating. Either way, she needs details.

"...Mikumo, honestly," she starts through a small, befuddled huff of laughter, "What you're describing is probably decades past where my world is. You sound like you're in a good position to learn how technology here actually works - at least, in a better position than I am. Never been much of an electronics or science person, myself."
