Mikumo doesn't look too surprised to hear that her technology is in the future compared to Codi's, since she's noted some others here who seem to be similarly from her "past", but it does present an opportunity to look into something else. Since they're now on the topic of relative time and technology anyway, it should be easy to turn things in that direction.

"It's hardly my job, but I work out of a space carrier, so it's difficult not to have some exposure to it," she points out, before turning the topic back. While her curiosity isn't nearly as visible as Codi's, a certain amount of it comes through in her tone. "What year and planet is it that you're from? I've heard there's an unusually high proportion of people from Earth so far."

She had a conversation on the network with someone regarding it earlier, and given what happened to the Earth she knows of, it's a useful way to highlight how many alternate histories of Earth - or alternate dimensions - they might have represented here as well.
