At home, the rebels were good, but they had to hurt people to help others, and were considered criminals by the Empire. The Empire was the law, the government - which her parents worked for - but she had seen the ways they oppressed and hurt people. The way the sent people to prisons they never came back from for no reason, and hurt people whenever they were visiting their planets. The way some planets had people who were weak and starving, who didn't get the help they needed while the Empire played favorites with planets who supported them. It was all very confusing.
Maybe things weren't as simple as some people are good, some people are bad. Maybe people could seem nice on the outside, or trustworthy, but like the Third Sister, just be faking it so they could hurt you. Leia briefly wondered whatever happened to Third Sister, then slid back into her train of thought. Did this also mean some people could seem bad and scary but actually have good in them? She would rather end her thoughts on a positive note.
Point: be careful who you trust and things are not always what they seem. This lesson was happening a lot. The child did not like it very much.
