The Tether App

During the night, everyone's phone or other network device has been updated with a new app - The Tether - intended for helping new arrivals find Tethers.

Unfortunately for those who don't want to participate, the prompt for the application will keep popping up on their screen until they fill out the mandatory fields and post their profile. If you don't want to participate, it might be best to fill in the blanks with prank answers!

Once posted, the app creates a profile that looks like this:

It is a simple swiping type app like many dating apps, swipe left to ignore a profile, swipe right to initiate an instant messenger conversation with the person in question on the app's proprietary chat program, complete with emojis!

Combine that switch with some of the automation I have seen here, and that would really be something.

I've never considered the prospect of Heero having Science/Tech buddies before now.

I do not mean to modify everything I acquire; the engineers of these items had their own intentions in mind and those are valid.
This mobile device is fine as it is. I like that it fits in my pocket.
My own designs will suit my preferences.

Of course not. It would be wildly inefficient.
The technology of my world is different to that from here, but sounds like it varies even more significantly from yours.
It's intriguing.

Some is - the Electric Heart is very, very different from home - but other areas are more technologically familiar.
I have seen examples of engineering comparable to my work in the city centre - and many aspirational contrivances in the Mage Sector.
Much of it glows blue. There may be a multiversal constant there.

The Electric Heart is the most familiar to me.
Magic was a myth, there's been no proof it ever existed. So much of the technology here is unfamiliar to me. It would not be a possibility in my world.

The likelihood of mankind developing the ability to travel and live among the stars before discovering their ability to do magic is highly unlikely.

[But not entirely impossible. But that does mean that blending magic and technology in his home world would be impossible at the moment.]
